KinTrack

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 7 September 2026

KinTrack is a household task app made by Alexandrou Intelligence Ltd (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and what choices you have. We have tried to keep it short and plain. If anything is unclear, write to us at the address at the end.

1. No accounts

KinTrack does not ask for your name, email address, phone number or password. When you first open the app, Google Firebase gives your device an anonymous, randomly generated identifier. Everything you do in KinTrack is tied to that identifier and to the household your device is paired with, not to a personal account.

Because there is no account, we cannot see who you are. We only see the identifier of a device and the content that device adds to its household.

2. Information the app stores

The following is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) so that every paired device in a household sees the same information:

  • Household name — typed by the Head Kin who creates the household.
  • Member display names — typed by the Head Kin when they create a slot for a device (for example “Maria” or “Kitchen tablet”). These are chosen by the Head Kin and may or may not be a real name.
  • Tasks and routines — titles, subtasks, priorities, deadlines, completion status and schedules.
  • Chat messages — text sent in the household group chat and in one-to-one chats.
  • Photos — only if you choose to attach one to a task or a chat message. The app asks for camera or photo library permission at that moment and never accesses your photos otherwise.
  • Push notification token — a Firebase Cloud Messaging token that lets us deliver notifications (task assigned, reminder, overdue, daily summary) to your device.
  • Device time zone — sent by Head Kin devices so scheduled routines and the daily summary arrive at the right local hour.
  • Restore code (hashed) — each device receives a one-time restore code. We store only a cryptographic hash of it, never the code itself, so it cannot be read back even by us.
  • Anonymous device identifier — the Firebase anonymous authentication ID described above.

The app also keeps a few settings on your device only (language, light or dark mode, whether you have seen the welcome screens, ad-related preferences). These never leave your phone.

3. What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, calendar, precise device fingerprint, browsing history, or any financial or health information. We do not run analytics or crash-reporting SDKs. We never sell personal information.

4. Advertising

KinTrack is free and supported by advertising served through Google AdMob. To show ads, the AdMob SDK may collect your device’s advertising identifier (the Android Advertising ID or Apple’s IDFA), IP address, general device information and ad interaction data. Google uses this to serve, measure and, where you allow it, personalise ads. Google’s handling of this data is described in Google’s Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy) and in “How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services” (policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites).

Your choices:

  • iOS: the app shows Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you decline, the IDFA is not shared and ads are non-personalised. Every feature keeps working.
  • EEA, UK and Switzerland: before any ad is shown, a Google consent form asks for your choices. You can change them later from Settings in the app.
  • Android: you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device’s Google settings.

Rewarded ads are optional. Watching one only unlocks a cosmetic extra for a limited time.

5. Why we process this information

We process the information above to provide the service you asked for: keeping a household’s tasks, routines, messages and photos in sync between paired devices and sending the notifications the Head Kin has switched on. Under EU law, the legal basis is performance of a contract (providing the app) and, for advertising, your consent or our legitimate interest in funding a free app, depending on your region and your choices.

6. Who can see your information

  • Members of your household see the content shared within it. Head Kins see all tasks; Kins see only their own tasks; chat is visible to its participants.
  • Google processes the data on our behalf as our hosting and infrastructure provider (Firebase) and, separately, as the ad network (AdMob).
  • Nobody else. We do not share, rent or sell household data to anyone. We would disclose information only if legally required to.

7. Where your information is stored

Firebase servers are operated by Google and may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Google participates in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and offers standard contractual clauses for transfers from the EEA and UK.

8. How long we keep it

Household data is kept for as long as the household exists. When a Head Kin removes a device from a household, that device loses access, its member record is marked removed and its notification token is deleted. When a household is deleted, its tasks, routines, messages and photos are deleted with it.

If you want anything deleted sooner, or you have left a household and want your device’s remaining data removed, email us from the device in question with your household name and member name. We will complete the request within 30 days.

9. Security

Data travels between your device and Firebase over encrypted connections (TLS). Access to household data is restricted by Firebase security rules to devices that are members of that household. Restore codes are single-use and stored only as hashes. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep your restore code private and remove any device you no longer trust.

10. Children

KinTrack is a tool for adults who run a household and is not directed at children under 16 (or under 13 where that is the local threshold). We do not knowingly collect information from children. A Head Kin may of course pair a device used by a family member; the Head Kin is responsible for that decision and for the content shared in the household.

11. Your rights

If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also complain to your local data protection authority; in Cyprus that is the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection.

If you are a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information as those terms are defined in law. We do not sell personal information. Sharing the advertising identifier with AdMob for personalised ads may count as “sharing” under some laws; you can opt out by declining tracking in the app or by turning off ad personalisation in your device settings. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.

Because the app has no accounts, we may ask you to make requests from the device concerned so that we can match them to the right anonymous identifier.

12. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we will update the effective date above and, where the change matters to you, tell you inside the app before it takes effect.
